Hi,
I try to install SAPGUI 7.10 on my laptop, what came with Vista preinstalled. :-(((
My first problem was that I couldn't find the saplogon.ini location. I found a solution for that, it is located at:
C:Users**User_Name**AppDataLocalVirtualStoreWindows
I couldn't add manually the SAP systems either, I still don't know why, but I don't need to add anything, so I don't care...
My second and showstopper problem is that SAPGUI will not start:
...
Error: service '?' unknown
Component NI (network interface)...
The setup added the services to the services file, I added manually as well, but the login still doesn't work.
I can ping the servers, so in theory networks issues are not a problem.
Vista is going to become a curse word, if it not already is...

What did you enter in the "System ID" for that system the error message appears?

Hi,
The problem was that the services file what I have got from Basis had several errors in it.
My Vista Laptop works fine since I've figured out that parts of the services file was corrupt.
Thanks for the help.

Try turning off User Access Control (Control Panel-->User Accounts, I believe), set the saplogon.ini file in the C:\Windows directory (the "usual" place), and see if that works...
Vista's UAC has been a big headache for us here as well
