Issue faced while Meter Install/Replacement

Hello Experts,

Need your help.

In our Project, we are trying to Install/Replace a Meter. Request comes through Idoc. which triggers our custom Function Module. And we are calling Standard Function Module 'ISU_S_WORKLIST_INSTALL_PROVIDE'.

Interesting part is, if we re-trigger the Idoc (which eventually re-runs the FM 'ISU_S_WORKLIST_INSTALL_PROVIDE'), then it goes through successfully.

In short, for same data it is failing for the first time. And is successful the next time.

Hence, we are not able to replicate the issue for analysis.

Has anybody faced similar kind of issue in their project.

Thanks in Advance for your help.

Hi Kalpesh - I would compare your code with snippets shown here:

Hi Tammy,

Thanks for the link. Going through it.

One thing I missed to mention here.

In scenarios where it is failing, it is giving error message 'EH 421'.

And in 90% of cases, there is a Disconnection Document created on Installation which is not associated to the Service Order. Service Order whose Idoc is triggering Meter Install/Replace/Remove.

I think, as the Meter is locked in the Disconnection Document, and we are trying to replace the device.

System is trying to update the Disconnection Document status, and is facing some issue.

I haven't come across that type of issue before, but are you able to fetch the DisconnectionDocument-Nmbr ...

I'm not sure upon what you actually want to do, but if you are looking for a way to Maintain - possibly disable / de-activate - the Disconnection Document :

  • See the FAQ in SAP-KBA 561875 - FAQ: Utility disconnection in IS-U/CCS : link

Extract :

I cannot remove or install a device from/into an installation due to an existing disconnection. What can I do?

In order to remove the device, either a reconnection has to occur before the removal date, so that the device is not disconnected for the removal day anymore. Or you have to reverse the disconnection order belonging to the device and the entry of the disconnection, then remove the device and enter the disconnection for the installation again.

How do I reverse a disconnection activity in the disconnection document?

To reverse a disconnection activity, go to the relevant disconnection activity in the change mode, you will the see the pushbutton for reversal in the application toolbar. The reversal can only occur in a chronological sequence starting with the last disconnection activity.

  • Check SAP-KBA 581287 on how to do a 'Dark Reverse' : link
  • Disconnection-FM's : "ISU_S_DISC_CHANGE" / "ISU_O_DISCDOC_MAINTAIN_DARK" / "ISU_M_DISCDOC_REVERSE_COMPLETE" can possibly help in changing / reversing the Document ...

I would suggest going through the FAQ ... Depending on what steps you need to perform regarding the DisconnectionDocument / Orde, use the appropriate FM's to Maintain the Objects and proceed with your initial Actions.

Hope this helps
