Reg Log files in SAP Server

Hi,

Please let me know the following,

when ever an error occurs in the SAP Server and the status is stopped or in yellow colour in AS-ABAP or AS-JAVA instance, please let me know the log files and profile files which has to be checked to correct the error.

Please let me know the explanation of each log file also
