Vora 1.4: Add HANA Connection

How and where to configure Vora to be able to connect with my HANA instance? I can only add HANA tables by using the SQL Console of the Vora Tools, but not in the Modeler. The Modeler shows me the error

Connection Failed: Error connecting to HANA database: no default connection available

Also my Vora Tools show me, that there's no HANA configuration:

Of course I get this error, because I didn't setup anything about my HANA instance (in the SQL console I give all the needed parameters in the sql command):

    host "",
    instance "90",
    user "SYSTEM",
    passwd "mypasswd",
    tenantdatabase "SYSTEMDB",
    dbschema "SYSTEM",
    tablepattern "%"

Where and how to setup this default HANA Connection? Thank you!

The Hana default connection can be configured in the spark-defaults.conf file. It is located in the spark conf directory. You can find the Spark location by looking at the Thriftserver service settings in the Vora Manager.

Thenk you very much! Now I was able to find the settings in my Ambari in the Spark Settings > Custom spark-defaults

The settings are (add when not there already):

  • spark.hana.instance
  • spark.hana.passwd
  • spark.hana.tenantdatabase
  • spark.hana.user
