Displaying fields of a datasource in the infopackage's dataselection tab

The property determining whether a selection is possible or not via a field(through Infopackage's Data selection tab) in BW is set in the DataSource in the source system, right ?? can anyone please tell me how we can change this selection so that i can display that datasource field in Infopackage's Data selection tab and i can use it to select records from the source system.

hi deeraj

u can go to the extract structure of the datasource in source system where u can find the four options SELECTOIN FIELD,HIDE FIELD,INVERSION AND FIELD ONLY.

u can check the check box in SELECTION FIELD if u want to display in the infopackage.it its disable then just scroll down and up of ur scroll bar and check the check box.

My question is, eventhough if that particular field is shown in the infopackage, at times it will be in disabled mode.that means we cant give any selection conditions for that particular field.But it will be displayed in the Infopackage. In that case how we will change the Selection and visibility of the field.

if you go to ROOSFIELD and take the field attr of a particular field you will find options like

'A': Field hidden in OLTP and BW, property cannot be changed by customer

'M': DataSource needs a selection using this field to extract data (mandatory field for generation of a request). Property cannot be changed by customer

' ': The DataSource cannot be selected via this field. Visibility can be changed by the customer (the field is currently visible, see '4')

'P': The DataSource can select via this field. Selection and visibility can be changed by the customer (the field is currently visible and not-selectable, see 'X', '3')

So if it is P the the field will be displayed in IP but we cant select it. So i want to know how we can change the Selection and visibility of this field.
