HI all,
I am new to XI and facing the problem in understanding some concepts .
Scenario: I am developing the interface between a SYSTEM A and SYSTEM B,
Do I need to define Products, SWCV ,Technical systems and Business systems for both system A & B in SLD?
If it is true then while developing IR Objects in Integration Repository, which system SWCV should I IMPORT from SLD? i.e, Is it SWCV of SYSTEM A or SYSTEM B
Plz help me with ur reply
With regards
Bhasker

Hi Bhasker,
Depends on how the landscape is designed.
Are those SYSTEM A & System B SAP standard systems?
Or you have created those systems yourself in the SLD.
If you have created yourself then you can import both of them in IR.
Create IR objects for System A in SWCV of system A. and vice versa.
Creater another SWCV and only create mapping objects in this SWCV.
Note for the above to work you have to define dependencies among SWCV.

Sumit

Hi Bhaskar,
There are two content types in SLD. Systems Catalog ( which includes Landscape, Technical Systems, Business Systems et al) and Sfotware Catalog( which includes Products, SWCVs et al ). Please note that System Catalog components like Technical & Bussiness Systems are used only in ID and not in IR. Hence, SWCVs are independent of SYSTEM A or SYSTEM B.
Thanks
Sameej
