What is the main difference between the Stock transfer and transfer posting.
Also in which situation we used each of them.
Also is there any specific document types for them .
How to create stock transfer and transfer posting in sap i.e. Tcodes for the same.

Basically the transfer posting may involve or not involve the physical goods transfer for example in the system you might do transfer posting from quality to unrestricted, or from one store location to another.
Whereas in stock transfer, it involves physical movement of goods, like transfer between plants under same company code or different company codes.

Hi,
Transfer Posting:
Removing or replacing materials from storage in one storage location and place them in another storage location.Example:The T.Code is:MB1B, Movement type 301.You can use also 303,305,311,411,309,321,349 movement types for special respective purpose.
Stock transfer :
Stock transfers can occur either within one plant or between two plants or company codes.
You can create Stock Transfer PO in T.code:ME27
For carry out Stock transfer, you have follow customising steps ie...integration betn MM with SD.Pl see SAP help files.

Hi,
The main difference between stock transfer and transfer posting is that, transfer postings need not involve an actual (physical) goods movements. In the case of stock transfers, on the other hand, there is always a physical movements of goods.
