Procedural steps of automaic Inspection lot creation.

Dear Gurus,

I would like to create Inspection lot automatically for various inspection types. Where I will customize the number ranges w.r.t specific inspection type (e.g. 01, 04, 05 etc.). Example: -

1. For Inspection Type 01 (GR inspection for incoming materials)- Lot Number is 1000000000.

2. For Inspection type 04 (GR inspection of finished goods)- Inspection lot number 4000000000.

3. For Inspection type 05 (Inspection for other good receipt)- Inspection lot number 5000000000.

    If you are using SAP std insp type, then you need to build the following

    - Material master with QM view - MM01

    -Assign the ispection type 01, 04. 05 in QM view

    -Create inspction charectristics - QS21

    -Create inspction plan - QP01

    The usage of inspection plan should be 5.

    Check in the SPRO, is the usage for each insp type is 5 or other. If it is not same then you create insp plan as per teh usage assigned.

    SPRO >QM >Quality inspection >Insp lot creation >Maintain insp type.

    Once you do it, insp lot will be created duting Production GR/PO GR and other GR.
