Installation of ST-PI and ST-A/PI Add-on

Dear all,

We have just upgraded the R/3 4.6C landscape to ECC 6.0 and I need to install again the ST-A/PI add-on and to import packages for ST-PI into the satellite systems.

The SAP notes related to the installation of the ST-A/PI add-on and ST-PI packages, point that this does not harm the production works. " Although no terminations due to importing during the dialog processing are to be expected, and the import can also occur while the system is running, you should select an up-to-date maintenance window to import the latest ST-PI Support Package."

What is your experience, can I install the packages and install the add-on during production work?

Is there need for SGEN to be run after the installations?

ST-A/PI can be installed without any problems. ST_PI can also be installed during production.

You can do SGEN just for those two components.

- Start SGEN

- select the first point "Generate all objects of selected components"

- step forward

- here just select (by holding CTRL/STRG key down) ST_PI and ST/A-PI and step forward

Hi,

I suggest you to install the addons after business hours with my knwledge if you import it while the work is on it might cause inconsistencies.

I think for add-on not mandatory to execute SGEN.

I will wait for the evening and install the patches and add-on after the working hours.

And if SGEN is not needed than OK.
