Hi All,

I am installing EP 6.40 on Windows 2003 Server with Java/Oracle platform. At installation phase 41 of 44 it fails. In the callSDMviaSapInst.log file the error message is:-

Nov 30, 2007 11:54:53... Error: Could not create JStartupClusterController connected to MessageServer[Host:OSVM15, Port:3601] : Connection refused: connect Throwable: java.net.ConnectException Throwable message: Connection refused: connect

Nov 30, 2007 11:54:54... Error: Could not create JStartupClusterController connected to MessageServer[Host:OSVM15, Port:3601] : Connection refused: connect Throwable: java.net.ConnectException Throwable message: Connection refused: connect

Nov 30, 2007 11:54:54... Error: Received exception when saving current Engine state: Could not create JStartupClusterController connected to MessageServer[Host:OSVM15, Port:3601] : Connection refused: connect

Nov 30, 2007 11:54:54... Info: Error handling strategy: OnErrorStop

Can anyone provide some advice as how to resolve this problem? Anyone else experienced this error?

Thank you in advance.

Sean.

The error message now says:-

Cannot not connect to host as [ADMINISTRATOR].

But there is no administrator account on this machine. Do I need to create one and how will the sapinst know what the password is?

Hi!

This is probably a misunderstanding. The Administrator is not an account on OS-Level in this case but on J2EE Level. Open the configtool and make sure that the correct password for the Administrator is in the SecureStore. This is a frequent error when SDM has problems.

Hi Sean,

The SDM recognizes only one user, the SDM Administrator.

check the following link to understand the concept:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/63/2c4f65a54c4a4db1a3600397ae617f/frameset.htm

To change the SDM Password, check this SAP Note:

Note 701654 - Deployment aborts due to wrong J2EE Engine login information
