Hi,

I have installed SAP-R3 system in remote machine(Vmware) and I have EP server on my local machine.

Here my questions is how can I connect the R3 system from my local machine?

Is it required to have SAP GUI installed in local system as well?

Can I create a System Object in the portal to connect R3 system which is there in Remote machine?

Is setup or software installation required to communicate R3 system(Installed on Remote machine) from EP(Locall installed).

Please help me.

Hello,

Just make sure that you are able to ping the SAP R/3 Server from your EP Machine.

If you are able to do so, then you can simply proceed to create a System in EP and create iviews for SAP GUI for HTML. You also have the option of creating iviews for SAP GUI for Windows(which requires SAP GUI installation).

For steps to create system please have a look at the following link:

After creating a system go to Content Admin->Portal Content and create a new iview and assign the Tcode to be attached and provide the system name which you created.

Check preview if it works.

If you are using SAP GUI for HTML, you will need to do some steps extra into your ECC box. Otherwise you can install SAP GUI at local machine and make them work with SAP GUI for Windows.

The steps for SAP GUI for HTML are:

1.Configure the Rz10 profile parameters for the host name(FQDN->icm_hostname)full) and the port no.

2.Check that parameters appearing in the SE80 settings and ITS Server settings.

After activating ITS Services these steps more needs to be done to make them usable.

1. Go to SE80-Edit ITS Service SYSTEM-> Publish it completely.

2. Go to SE80-Edit ITS Service WEBGUI-> Publish it completely.

3. Go to SE80-Edit ITS Service SHUFFLER-> Publish it completely.

4. Go to SE38-Run the Program W3_PUBLISH_SERVICES and publish all the webservices.

From transaction SICF now you need to enable the services.

1.Go to sap/bc/gui activate the complete node.

2.Go to sap/bc/icf activate the complete node.

3.Go to sap/bc/ping activate the complete node.

4.Go to sap/public/bc activate the complete node.

Now give the ITS parameters in the system you created and create a SAP Transaction Iview. inside its property editor choose the option SAPGUI for HTML.

Hope this helps!
