SAP ECC & BW Landscape backup question

Hi All

We are currently looking at our off site backup stratergy and I have been asked a question which I am not sure what the answer is. Basically what I want to know is if we only had copies of our ECC PRD and BW PRD systems could we do an copyback and create a new ECC DEV & QAS and BW DEV & QAS?

I would have thought no for DEV systems, but yes for QAS systems as DEV could contain a lot of config work untransported.

Any help of official SAP notes would be great!

    HI phil,

    If i understand your question properly, then the answer is we never copy PRD to DEV. Always PRD to QAS. But, some people do that as well. It just not recomended by SAP.
