Attachments from R/3 into SRM

Former Member

Hello everyone -

I have seen a lot of posts regarding the use of attachments from SRM into R/3, but I have found limited information regarding attachments from the back-end into SRM. The client is going to use SRM 5.0, and has multiple back-end systems.

Any help or information regarding how to do this would be very helpful.

Thanks!

Hello Scott,

We understand yr pain.

As Masa had already said it is not a standard feature of 5.0 and would be available from 6.0 onwards.

We also need the same functionality in 5.0 for our customer and working on some inputs given by Christophe.

pasting here for yr ref.

Attachments of PR sent to SRM should be transfered as well.

In SRM, the inbound attachment references are processed by function BBP_ATTACH_CONTENT_WEBGET. This function will read sent doc URLs and create corresponding doc in SRM SC item attachment.

I said BBP_ATTACH_CONTENT_WEBGET is in charge of reading external documents and creating them as SRM attachments.

It is not related to cFolders specifically.

This function is used in the external requirement scenario during the inbound SC creation in SRM: it reads backend documents, would it be a 4.6C or an ECC6.0 system.

ECC will send URL of your DMS docs, and SRM will try to process those URLs.

So debug the external requirement flow: starting in R/3 (check that ECC sends doc URLs), going into SRM (with an RFC dialog user), and break point in function BBP_ATTACH_CONTENT_WEBGET.

Atul - that would be helpful for transferring attachments from SRM into the Backend, but I am trying to go the other way!!

The client needs to have attachments go <i><b>FROM</b></i> the back-end, <i><b>TO</b></i> SRM. I don't know if this is possible, but that's what we are trying to do.

thanks, and any information would be helpful!!

Hi

If you want more inputs, search sap help for documentation on DMS (SAP R/3 DMS uses the same technology as in SRM)

SRM uses Kpro (inbuilt content server) for storing document.

If you do not want to use this, you need to define another content server (say, filenet).

The necessary configuration is in cross-application functions (check your earlier postings replies for more info). You check with filenet experts also...I am reasonably sure they have expertise in defining content server with R/3 or SRM).

<i>Please consult with SAP as well if this is possible by creating a query using new Customer OSS Message as well.</i>

Hi,

If you are talking about BBP_EXTREQ_TRANSFER with attachment, it is not standard in SRM50 but it will come in future release.
