hi all...,

What are the Pre-checking to be done before Client copy to be done.

Mail me the procedure to check the size of both clients.

Is size a factor to be checked before client copy?

regards

Arun

Hello Arun,

Size indeed is one of the most important factor for client copy pre-checks.

To know the required client size for local clint copy:

Execute transaction SCCL

Select client copy profile

Select source client & user master

Click Test run

Schedule in background

Choose background server & the Schedule client copy

Confirm details & click Continue

Now this is important: Choose Resource Check button for knowing the size requirement.

Then click immediate --> Check ---> Save

Choose Output Device (DO NOT Print immediately)

Then execute transaction SCC3

Drill down to view the log & progress

After the test run is complete, double click on 'Resource Analysis" button

It will give you screen stating something like that:

Area Free (KB) Required (KB)

Tablespace1 100,000 90,000

Tablespace2 100,000 12,000

Now you have 100,000 KB of free space in Tablesapce1 but only require 90,000 KB for client copy. so you need not add any files to this table space as client copy pre-check

However you need to add 2,000 KB to tablespace as a pre-check for client copy.

Remember: this log only data type tablespaces. also increase corresponding index type tablespace too

Hope this resolves your query.

HI...

The main steps involved in client copy and transport are

deleting table contents in the target client to establish a consistent environment

copying the data from the source client to the target client

postprocessing activities to regenerate the runtime environment

PLease visit the following link which will also illustrates the required authorizations to perform the client copy

Hi Arun ,

Manually check the space in :\usr - drive

Before Start Client Copy we need to maintain the table space

In command Prompt --- SAPDBA

Reduce the Table Space.
