global realease key and effectivity date in ECN's

Dear All,

We are using Engg BOM and Prod BOM , while releaseing ECN's in engg BOM , in poduction it has to be updated.

But the date has been maintained as effectivity date in ENGG BOM while creating ECN at date of creation , after updation of Prod BOM they released for production using Global release Key,

Can any one help me if some body forgot to release this global release key.

then the system updated based on effectivity date of that Engg BOM ECN's.

    I could not understand your requirement properly.Can you please explain me

    what's your problem or what help you expect regarding ECM & its release key?

      Dear Sureshbabu,

      Why do u want to maintain 2 individual BOM's as one for Engg & one for

      Production?Better create an ECN with release key and do the changes in the

      BOM(actually done by the Engg Division people) and once its finalised ,let them

      release the Change number( that's setting the release key).So until that time only

      the old BOM (items)remain alive.

      Still if you face any problem regarding this,revert back to forums.
