Planning Horizons for CTM and SNP Heuristics

I am working on running CTM for short term 0-2 months and SNP heuristic for mind to long term 2 - 18 months both in 000 version.

Here are the questions which I have:

1) How do I make sure that CTM runs only for 2 months in the future on a rolling basis? I see in the CTM profile that we have "planning start" and "planning end" fields under the planning scope tab. If I populate these fields with dates of the first day of the last month and the last day of 2 month from now , those dates will be constant even when I run CTM as part of next months planning cycle.

<b>How can these dates be rolling dates of always next 2 months?</b>

2) I have the following settings for running SNP:

I have Fcst for month 1 and month 2 but I do not want the SNP heuristic to consider this as my SNP planning starts only on 2+ months.

I have set the planning start date in the planning book design as AFTER 2 months

The forecast now shows up in the initial column and now when I run the heuristic, the system does create orders on day 1 of the planning book to satisfy the demand of the past 2 months. I assume this is the correct behaviour. IF it is, how is this normally done where Heuristics and CTM are both run for long term and short term planning respectively.

Basically I want to use CTM for months 0 and 1 ( to get a constrained plan as output in the short term )and SNP heuristics for the 2nd month onwards(unconstrained) . How can this be done?

Appreciate if someone can throw some light on this.

    For the first requirement, it should be easily controlled by the CTM time stream with relative settings. They should look out for just 2 months.

    For the second one, try to use Forecast Horizons to ignore forecasts for the first two months. To no interfere with the CTM run, you may need to develop custom code for CTM to ignore the forecast horizon.

      I did not mean to customcode the SNP heuristic.

      I concur with your view of SNP heuristic running for entire horizon, if it works. However I thought your requirement was that SNP heuristic was supposed to ignore the forecasts in first 2 months. The only way I envison that may happen is through a dev object that can update forecast horizon in location product masters for first two months before SNP heuristic. The dev object can then remove the Fcst Horizon so that CTM can plan for forecasts in the first two months.
