Functional

Hi All,

I am new to SAP SRM and also to SAP. I am having good experience with other programming language in web technologies, P.O, Sales and Distribution. Recently got traning in SAP SRM. Also long back worked on ABAP.

Now my question is upto what extent a functional guy need to know. Other than configuring the Enterprise Buyer. Do a functional guy need to know all table names also? Also a functional guy need to know any technicalities.

<b>Experts</b> please let me know your comments.

    ...sorry but this is a strange kind of question. Usually, SRM is considered quite technical so there are not so clear boundaries where technical and functional start resp. stops. Just when you look up the help.sap.com and figure that you have to distinguish between technical scenarios classic/ext.classic/standalone in EBP. All with diverse positive and negative functional delta, dependencies on the backend process etc. etc.

    Generally, if you're a functional consultant for SRM, you're automatically are technical to some extent.

    Your goal should be both!
