Importing Software Components

Hello all,

I'm trying to build a RFC - XI - Web Service Scenario. But to start I need to import my RFC that will comunicate with XI. How do I do it? The RFC is hosted in an ECC 6.0 but there are too many components in the sofware catalog that I dont know what to import. Or what to choose

How do I do it?

Thanks for your help.

Felipe

double click on software component version

then check with option definition -> interface imports

select import of rfc and idoc interfaces then save it

then you will be able to see import options under your software component version. Right click on that and use sap imports to import RFC or an IDOC

thanks

Hi

In the IR you can import the RFC/iDoc from R/3 system.

Click on the Imported Objects and right click on the RFC/IDoc and choose import the RFC/IDoc.

Do not forget to change the option in the namespace.Click on Import of RFC/iDoc allowed.

Thanks

Hi all,

I'm trying the import, I enter the application system, user, and then as soon as I Select the RFC option, a small "loading" logo comes up and then the system stalls. After several minutes another JAVA window comes up that says on its title INTERNAL PROBLEM, but does not give any information and the IR stalls and I cant do anything else.

What happened? does anyone has any idea?

Is the ECC system u r trying to connect is up? Please check.

Otherwise recheck the connection parameters

Yes Prateek, its up and running.

The connection parameters are ok because I'm able to do the first of the 3 steps that is the logon.

Any other ideas?

Hi Felipe,

Check the following

1. Runtime workbench >Component Monitoring> Tools --> select IR and check the

status

2. Refresh the cache in IR and check the SLD Cache Notification

and try to import again

Thanks

in Integration repository goto your software component version->imported objects->RFC->right click and select Import of SAP objects, over there you can import the RFC or IDOC from ECC system

Thanx

Aamir,

Thanks for your quick response, but the problem is that I have not imported the component version, because the Sofware Catalog has sooo many components that I dont know what to import. How can I know what to import?

I already have the SAP ABA 7.00 and SAP BASIS components in the IR, but these where set up during instalation.

How do I know what component of all ECC components is the one that I have to import?

Thanks,

Felipe

you don't have to import software component version for ECC.

first of all you need to define a software component version for yourself in SLD,lets call it SWCV1.as you already have software component version in SLD you don't need to define again

then log into Integration repository->tools->transfer from system landscape directory->import software component versions.

it will show you all the software component version in SLD,just import the one you need, once this is imported you need to import RFC by using the way i mentioned in my earlier reply

Thanx

Aamir,

I Did what you told me, I created my software component, and then Import it into the IR.

But there is no "Imported Objects" anywhere. What did I did wrong?

double click the software component version,it will then open a screen on right side, over there make sure you have selected Import of RFC and IDOC interfaces from SAP system permitted, give the give system ID,client, etc for SAP ECC system and then save and activate, you will then see imported objects on left side

Thanx

Aamir
