Hi all,

when I want to make some adjustments in JCo RFC provider service on J2EE Visual Administrator the following error message pops up:

error while loading service JCo RFC provider.

Does anyone have clue what is going on?

Thanx a Lot.

The JCO RFC provider can be seen in the Visual Admin tool -> Server -> Services -> JCO RFC Provider.

You can right click and start and stop the service in the VA tool.

Did this help?

O.K when I did rightclick on JCo RFC provider service there was STOP button highlighted, so that means I has been running. I found this keys and values in properties tab.

JarmActiveonStart false

MaxConnections 20

MaxProcesses 20

WaitForAppsStart false

there is nothing else. Could this be a problem?

No those values are norma.

So you can start and stop the JCO service that's good.

Your JCO Listener is running right (SAPSLDAPI)? If not start it.

If you get an error when starting or stopping the service, goto:

Visual Admin -> Logviewer (find you DefaultTrace.trc file) and look at the error.

where can I check if JCO listener is running?

What error shows up in your default.trc file?

Hi,

Do you mean one that can be viewed via Visual Admin in Logviewer? I did find only defaultTrace.trc file, is it that one you mentioned? Can you advise how to startup JCo RFC provider Service? What changes need to be done?

Thanx A LOT.

Yes, the detail of the error will be in that default.trc file.

Repeat the error, grab the relevant entries from the log and post it for us please.

hey again,

unfortunatelly I have no access to that system @ the moment. The whole situation showed up like this: when I run SLDCHECK on XI system everything works fine, but when I try to sldcheck from remote R/3 system there is an error that looks like this:

SLD check result:

Exchange Infrastructure: SLD Connection Test

Properties of RFC destination SAPSLDAPI

RFC host: %%RFCSERVER%%

program id: SAPSLDAPI_DGX

gateway host: cidgx24.intra.qimonda.com

gateway service: sapgw24

Testing the RFC connection to the SLD java client...

RFC ping was successful

SLD server address settings:

host name: cipgx22.intra.qimonda.com

port number: 52200

Use transaction SLDAPICUST if you wish to maintain the SLD server address

Launching the SLD GUI in a separate browser window...

=> Verify in the browser GUI that the SLD is in a healthy running state!

Testing the SLD API

SLD API ping was successful

Clearing the local SLD cache

Calling function LCR_LIST_BUSINESS_SYSTEMS

Retrieving data from the SLD server...

Function call terminated sucessfully

List of business systems maintained in the SLD:

ORACLEDB_LOGMCHB

ORACLEDB_MCHBDEV

JOMITEST_PROD

C22CLNT410

JOMITEST_QA

SAP_BC_qual

DIF_912

Calling function LCR_GET_BS_DETAILS

Retrieving data from the SLD server...

Function call returned exception code 5

=> Check whether the SLD is running!

Summary: Connection to SLD does not work

=> Check SLD function and configurations

We followed the steps of some sap help hint:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/78/20244134a56532e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm

but when tried to open JCo RFC provider service the error that I have mentioned in first message popped up. (step 7 in that guide)

As I have no access currently to that R/3 remote system I am not able to check it now. Could you just advice if JCo RFC provider service needs to be started somehow first?

If yes, could you gimme some hints how to do it? I would appreciate it.

Thanx a lot for your help.
