    Hi Deepak ,

About the Machine availability, Whether Production planning module is being implemented at your client and if it is, are they creating a work center for the equipment, and if they are, they must be maintaining the available capacity and whenever the equipment is under maintenance/ production, capacity requirement would be generated for the equipment. Using Capacity requirement reports, you can check the availability of equipment in the last month or any time period.

If PP is not being implemented, create a Processing unit work center for the equipment and record all of the capacity requirements yourself.

Second approach could be by using a measuring counter for the equipment and recording the running hours for the equipment each day, then you can create a customized report showing the total capacity of equipment, the running hours, the available hours.

Some organisations calculate the equipment availability as under

Equipment Availability in % = (Actual Availability / Expected availabiltiy) X100

    where

Actual availabilty (Hrs) = Expected availability (Hrs) - Downtime due to breakdowns (Hrs)

Expected availability (Hrs) = Total calender hours - Preventive maintenance hours

It is upto one organisation how it defines it, to indicate the efficiency of maintenance function.
