After running RDT , the universe is not opening.

After running RDT on the backed up version of CMS database and FRS files , with repair option, the universe is not opening in information design tool and also in web intelligence tool.
The error is could not open the file from a file path in FRS. The file does exist in the FRS file path , I wonder why is it not opening.

  • I notice this post is in the BI authentication tag, can you remove that as it confuses people that are looking for actual authentication issues. FRS would be considered BI administration

    Review RDT report files and see if that universe or its file was removed.
    You can also go to CMC, locate the universe, check its properties, which will show the path to its location - check that location.

    • then there is some inconsistency. Maybe FRS locations have changed or something in CMS DB that is confusing the client tools.
      Run RDT with scan option and review report. see if the universe is mentioned.
      Double check where FRS server point to.

      If you still can't figure it out - log incident with SAP, under BI-BIP-ADM.

      p.s.
      always make CMS DB/FRS backups before using RDT in fix/repair mode.

    Can you share the error screen if feasible?

    • Which universe is affected. Is it .unv or .unx?
    • Try to copy the universe into a different universe folder and export to repository to see if it is opening. If it works you can try to create sample report and see universe objects as usable.
    • Try to run Relationship queries and see reports & universe are still binding.

    If possible please remove the tag for BI authentication as this question is not relating to that area of the BI product
