hi,

If you have defined a warehouse and assigned it to a storage location, and you use this storage location in a delivery, then you must use warehouse management to do the picking for that delivery.

The goods are received in the interim storage area for goods receipts (for example, from production). A transfer order is then created in WM to move the goods into the warehouse. This tells the warehouse staff where to put the stock. When the stock is put into the warehouse in the correct place, the transfer order is confirmed, which tells SAP that the goods have been moved out of the interim storage area (the loading and

unloading area) into the warehouse.

Later when you want to deliver the stock, you need to fetch it out of the warehouse. You can create a transfer order from the delivery and SAP will choose stock from the warehouse to be delivered. This choice is based on a number of inventory methods, such as last-in, first-out (LIFO) and first-in, first-out (FIFO). The transfer order will instruct the warehouse staff where to get the stock from and to deliver it to the interim storage area for goods issue.

Once all the stock has been picked, the transfer order is confirmed, which informs SAP that the stock has been taken out of the warehouse and made available for loading in a loading bay or another such place. If you created the transfer order from a sales delivery, SAP will confirm that the delivery has been picked when you confirm that you have fulfilled the stock quantity in the transfer order. It can now be loaded onto the truck and goods issued.

Picking can be done on an interface with the WM module of SAP. Should this be the scenario, once the delivery is created, you need to create a transfer order. You can create a transfer order from the delivery within the delivery select delivery by going to Save and subsequent functions, Transfer order. It is also possible to create a transfer order for a delivery by proceeding from the logistics screen by going to Materials management, Warehouse management, Transfer order, Create, for Delivery.

After the transfer order number has been created, it is necessary to confirm the transfer order by proceeding to Transfer order, Confirm transfer order. This transfer order would carry out the picking automatically.

Hi Chandrashekhar,

If the warehouse management (WM) is implemented then you need Transfer orders (TO) for picking, once you create a TO you need to confirm it then only the system will allow you to do PGI for the deliveries

TOs can be created with reference to Delivery or with reference to Shipment

Reward points to me
