Error in Synchronizing Slave Repository

Hi All,

I've created a Master / Slave pattern and when i make any changes in the Master and Synchronize the slave i get the following error:

<b>"Unable to retrieve synchronization data from master repository. See the Assertion Log for more information."</b>

In the assertion log it shows the error <b>"When requesting pending changes, received the following error from the master MDS: Error opening file (code 2147614722)."</b>

Can anyone help me figure out why this is happening and which file it is not able to open?

    Hi Seema,

    When a master repository is mounted on an MDM server mounted by a Console under a name other than the hostname (IP address, "localhost", a fully qualified

    hostname) it breaks master logging . More information is available in SAP note 1098610.

    Is it your case? How did you mounted the master MDM server by hostname?

      Hi Lev,

      Thank you very very much....

      U made my day....

      Now i'm able to synchronize the slave.....Earlier i had mounted the server with the IP address coz of which it was giving me the error....now that i've mounted it with the host name it is working fine.....

    Did u check that MDM master rep was loaded and running when u did sync slave

      Hi Dilmit,

      Thanks for replying....

      I haven't Normalized the repository. After creating the slave the very first time i tried to synchronize it gave this error. And besides the repository has the green color symbol indicating that it is still slave and even the master has pink color symbol.

    Hi Seena,

    Just check whether your Master and slave repositories both do not have any errors by checking the repositories for errors.

    Hi Seema

    Have you made any recent changes to the .XCT file under 'Modifications' folder ?

    or Have you defined any soft links related to .XCT, if you have installed MDM in Linux ?

      Hi Prakash,

      I tried to synchronize the slave of another repository. but this time i got the following error in the Assertion Log:

      <b>Error:Unable to open transaction log file C:\PROGRA1\SAPMDM1.5\Server\Modifications\REP_QUIZDTPXP-SERANE%SIMMSQL_8_16_4_3.xct because of error: Error opening file (code 2147614722).</b>

      I tried the find the .xct file but i couldn't find any. I'm working on Windows OS and my MDM server version is 5.5.42.66

      Can u pls tell me where can i find this .xct file???
