How to stop the user from changing the Dep Key & Useful life in TN AS02.

Hi gurus,

The requirement is as below:

The user who has the authorisation of AS02 keeps on changing the Depreciation Key and useful life of the assets which makes upset their managers. So it is our requirement to stop them from changing the Depreciation key and useful life in 'Depreciation Area' Tab of the asset master data despite they have the access of transaction code AS02. Only their managers should be able to change this in TN AS02.

I tried this in Transaction code ANSICHT and it meets our requirement to some extent but it applies to all the users even to them who has the autoristion of 'SAP ALL' as well. Through this change in TN AS02, the depreciation area tab appears in dispay mode and no body is able to change the contents of this tab.

What I want is either going ahead with the abvoe trail, how the managers should be able to change the contents of the Depreciation area tab if they want to change OR is there any USEREXIT which can meet our requirement OR any other way to get this requirement.

    Hi,

    Using ANSICHT is the correct approach. You just need to ensure that the Authorisations are allocated correctly to the users.

    you can use the substitution for the depreciation key.

    Hi,

    Ask you abaper as to which program is excuted while saving the asset in TN AS02. Also you can ask your abaper, the user exit for AS02. There is one. In that you can put the restriction.
