Im not sure if my question is apppropriate/not.... but just wanted to know something abt Doc Mgmt...in what way it is useful and what are the advantages of that and from which version its availabe
1. Acts as a central repository, external documents can be maintained.
2. To maintain all the docs that are referred in various business transactions and which can be used for completing the transactions (Eg: Customer complaints, supplier evaluations etc).
3. To control and distribute all the documents, and ensure latest documents are in use.
4.To archive obsolete documents.
5. Linking and Updation of HR related documents.
6. To maintain change history of documents.
7. Defining the person responsible for control of the documents.
TO implement Document management system, first install the content server and connect to your Back end ECC 6.0 System.
you can find the content server as a "standalone Engine" under SAP Netweaver 2004s Support Release 2
the above content server has version content server 6.40 with MaxDB
