To compute the no of month base on Key Figures

Appreciate if could help.

I would like to compute the remaining month left base on the depreciation start date given in the characteristic, ie depre start date: 01-May-2005 and current financial date 01-Apr-2006. LifeSpan: 10 Yrs.

Thus, the remaning life: 10*12 - (Month(01-Apr-2006) - Month(01-May-2005)).

For the (Month(01-Apr-2006) - Month(01-May-2005)), Any method can be directly get the month of the date provided and do our own formula in the Query designer?

Alternatively, if the 1st method is not possible, are we able to use VBA instead?

Your advise is very much appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Start date and current data are dates, they are not months and if you subtract, you will get number of days not number of months. The closest you can do is you need to divide the value by 30 (average days of all months) which is a day and use the rounding of to get the months. Once you get the months then you can easily subtract that from 10*12 and come up to the remaining life.
