    Hi,

SOA is nothing but service Oriented Architecture and where as PI is Process integration both are supported by SAP.

SOA is a softwate where you intergate the different applications with SAP applications where as PI is also helpfull in exchange messages with diff business systems.

You can look into following links which can explain the difference about SOA and PI

SOA Is not a Software. Enterprise SOA is more of a IT stratergy. SAP Netweaver / PI is one of the tools that will drive and help in fulfilling organizations E-SOA startergy.

    Hi !

You can think PI as a tool for exposing/publishing funcionality of different systems (SAP and non-SAP) as webservices and make those webservices the foundation of your Services Oriented Architecture, that will allow you to reuse/consume the functionalty as services and for example, compose new applications based on those services.

The relationship of SOA and PI, is that PI is the base or foundation for implementing a services oriented architecure...I mean, to create a SOA you will need some tool to create webservices, exposing available funcionality of your IT landscape as webservices, and a repository to store them. PI gives you this features.

    Regards,

    Matias

    PD: please award if helpful.

    Anurag,

SOA stand for service oriented architecture which stresses on maximizing the use of web services like XML,SOAP Protocol...etc.

SAP has developed PI considering SOA architecture in mind...
