Consume PIRs on Product Group Level

Former Member

Here's my situation.

I have a Product Group which contains 5 materials. I have a Proportion factor of 20% each. I then created a Production Plan of 100 pieces per month for this Product Group FAM1, and transferred it to Demand management so it disaggregated to 20 pieces per material.

I now see Planned Independent Requirements (VSF) of 20 pieces per material per month.

Normally if I receive a real Sales Order in a given month, the quantity is consumed from the PIRs (e.g. a sales order of 15 pieces leaves me with PIR of 5 pieces in that month). Also, if I receive a sales order larger than my PIRs, it will consume them backwards or forward, depending on the settings in the MRP Group.

My question is: Is it possible to have the PIRs consumed at Product Group level? For example, if I have 20 pieces of PIR for each of the 5 materials, and I receive a Sales Order of 100 pieces in one of the materials; can the PIRs of the other materials be reduced to 0 pieces? I can only produce 100 pieces a month for a given Product Group; so if I receive a Sales Order of 100 pieces of any material in this group, I don't want to have any requirements for the rest of the materials.

Is this possible?

Hey, thanks a lot for your help.

Yeah, the more I look it seems like consuming PIRs at Product level is not possible. I'm going to try what you suggest; using a planning material for this purpose might solve it.

Hi

No Dear..

As I know Its not possible thru Std.SAP , Reason ..the reduction of PIRs is based on ur planning stretagy used in material master and that is used at Material level..not at PG level..PGs are used just to ease the planning for a similar kind of group of materials..

Not sure if some enhancement or system modification or Cosmetic Solution is there to cater this..will check more and come back to you..

Or else ..

You can use the planning with planning materials (Stretagy -60) in this you need to assign a planning material for all 5 materials which will plan a total qty of all 5 materials and as soon as sales order comes the PIR for planning material will be reduced.

in This case you Prod.Group will not be in use at all

Pl go thru the SAP Help and try this..I think this should work

If found answer as helpful..rewarding points will be appriciated
