Repair of sub-assembly in configurable equipment

Hi,

We are a high tech company selling configurable equipments. Sometimes a board into the equipment gets broken. The board's serial number is entered on the equipment level.

In order to repair this we now create a service notification on the equipment and a service notification on the material number of the board. This causes lots of administrative overhead and messes up our reporting.

Are there other possibilities to do this ?

So what you want to see is a single notification which can cover the material code of the board but the equipment code of the configurable equipment.
