Hi All,
I am using MDM 5.5 SP04 and a problem has occured that when i am mounting the server ,The mounted repositories pertaining to that server are displayed invalid.
ie all the repositories are marked by the Yellow triangle.
I have checked the database(Oracle instance) and the MDM servers are running fine .But whenever i am trying to do any activity on the repositories which require Database access as in Mounting,Creating,Unarchiving etc.the following error is displayed. "Error initialising Database Engine".
Please can anybody help me out.Points will be rewarded .
Thanks & Regards
Deepankar Pandit
Hi Deepankar,
usually when you see the server invalid (by the Yellow triangle on each repositories) means that your MDM server and MDM Clients have different version. Please, checks the version and be sure these are the same, or server version is more recent of the clients one.
Hope this help you.
Bye,
Vito

Hi Vito ,
U have estimated the problem wrongly. The servers have been working fine for months and we face this problem quite often. But each time we restart the servers the work goes on well but this time it have been an exception .And our server and client have no discrepancies as such.
Can u throw upon some light over this matter and help me understanding the problem.
Thanks & Regards
Deepankar
Hi Deepankar,
it seems to be a server problem. I think you have tried to verify if the MDM server is on and if all server services are ok.
An issue maybe related to the cache memory you are using into server where MDM server is installed. Have you got sufficient memory for MDM processes?? Please, check the Task Manager, see the system cache and verify that paging is ok. This is only an idea.
Regards,
Vito
