Planning for Assemblies for Configurable Material


Scenario : At Final Product level, Material types used are:

1. KMAT (Configurable Material) - (MTO)

2. FERT (Finished Products) - (MTS)

Out of total Production volume, MTO & MTO are 50-50%

The final products(kmat/fert) contain COMMON subassmeblies.

Planning for FERT (MTS) is done by feeding PIRs.

For KMAT, the Sales orders are not available during month start.

However, the subassembly level requirement for KMAT material are available.

Please guide on how to plant these subassmeblies for KMAT material.

    Hi Nitin..,

    use stratergy 70. for KMAT. you can convert the requirements for sub-assembly level.

      Thanks for your feedback.

      I understand from the reply that I should use Strategy 70 for the subassemblies.

      As I mentioned earlier, the subassemblies are common for KMAT and FERT.

      The dependent requirement for subassemblies - generated based on FERT PIR, will consume PIR for sunassmblies. Hence the planning for KMAT will not happen.

      Please correct me if above statement is wrong.
