Distribution Key Profit Center_Z

Hi,

I am pasting the SAP B1 help notes.

If the values you enter in the table do not add up to the total value, SAP Business One automatically allocates the difference to the zero profit center (Centr_z).

At the end of a predefined period, you can allocate the expenses and revenues from the zero profit center to the appropriate profit centers.

If you do not know the distribution key when the expenses and revenues are incurred, you can use the zero profit center. At the end of the period, you can allocate all costs from the zero profit center using the appropriate distribution key.

My Question is:

How to allocate the profit center_z amount to other prifit centers or cost centers?

Please give me suggestions.

Thanks

Satya

Hi,

I was obliged to do some testing, since I'm not using this every day...

What I understand (and have tested) is that you'll have to create your profit centers first (i.e. PC1 and PC2).

Then, you'll have to create the distribution rules (i.e. TEST1). When you do this, you aren't obliged to assign all the value to the profit center. To do the test, I used a total of 100 and assigned only a value of 50 to PC1. By doing this, you'll see that the profit center Centr_z will have assigned the remaining value (in my case 50).

Then you can add documents (during my tests, customer invoices) and during this process assign TEST1 as the needed distribution rule.

In the mean time, you'll certainly have added some distribution centers and new distribution rules.

On a regular basis, you should review what "happened" to your profit centers. For this, you use the Profit Center Report transaction. In the Selection Criteria dialog, you'll have to change the "summary of" option, from "Distribution Rules" to "Linked Accounts".

In the calculated report, by expanding the rows, you can see the individual transactions whose values are making the content of the report.

You can then edit the transaction (journal entry) which are under the Centr_z profit center, by clicking on the orange arrow at the left of the number of the transaction.

In the journal entry dialog, you can reassign the distribution rule used for this particular transaction.

Don't forget to recalculate your report...

Regards,

Eric
