Copy several transformation from one client to another

Hi guys,

Just want to ask if there is a way to copy several transformations from one client to another?

For example, our BW DEV is connected to two (2) ECC servers (client 100 and 110). We have transformations under client 100 for datasources 0FI_GL_4 (let's say name of dso is ZDSO_4), 0FI_GL_10 (let's say name of dso is ZDSO_10), and 0FI_GL_14 (let's say name of dso is ZDSO_14). Is there a way to copy the three (3) transformations of 0FI_GL_4, 0FI_GL_10 and 0FI_GL_14 from client 100 to client 110 under the same datasources and DSOs? So the result will be two (2) transformations each for the three (3) DSOs.

ZDSO_4 with transformations for 0FI_GL_4 from client 100 and 110

ZDSO_10 with transformations for 0FI_GL_4 from client 100 and 110

ZDSO_14 with transformations for 0FI_GL_4 from client 100 and 110

What is the easiest way to do this aside from right clicking the transformation and choosing the COPY function? What I wanted to achieve is to copy the three (3) transformations from client 100 to client 110 at the same time (NOT ONE AT A TIME).

NOTE:

This is just a sample scenario but in reality all transformations under client 100 should be copied for the same datasources under client 110 from client 100.

Thank you.

Ho Loed,

I don't know for the easiest (I guess for 3 transformations it won't be easy to differentiate the different methods).

One way will be to transport the 3 transformations (from DEV to DEV) and play with the system source conversion (to copy the transformations with a new system source).

Hi,

Is that possible to transport from DEV to DEV? Thanks for the idea. I will try to check that. 🙂

Of course, it's possible. The only use case I know is the one you're interested in (copy transfer rules or transformations from one source system to one another). This has been discussed quite a few times (maybe mainly for transfer rules).
