BOM COMPONENTS

Hi ...

When i am trying to do a Subcontracting PO , for the Finished Material (BOM)

i am getting the message as " Not Possible to determine the BOM Components".

Can anyone please say me what are the checks to be followed in order for the

BOM to recognize its Components.

check the delivery date of PO.Try to put 1 week lead time and check once again

Can u say me in MRP View the Special Procurment for the Components also need to be maintained as 30 or no need??

In BOM the Item Category of the Componenets what role it Plays??and

what item Category has to be maintianed in case of this subcontracitng???

Hi

If u want to create sub contracting orders through MRP then only u need to maintain 30 in special procurement

Item category 'L' is defined for subcontract. Based on this item category system identifies that this component is for subcontract

Hi

You have to do following things before making the SC Purchase order .

Material master for the BOM header material and the components.and then create the BOM for the header material and give the BOM copmonents and

their quantity.

Now go to create PO for the BOM for the Header material (PO with Item Category L and If you entered a bill of material as the material in the subcontract order, the components are created automatically.

If you want to determine the components in the bill of material at a later date (for example, if the bill of material is subsequently changed), choose Item -> Component -> New BOM explosion. The existing components are deleted and redetermined in the bill of material.
