Scenario : XI to process files of around 3MB in size.
Which would be a better approach of getting the file into XI apart from convinience?
HTTP(download from a website) or a File Server. My bet would be that 3 MB files can cause network congestion. Correct me if I'm wrong....
Hi Siru,
PI HTTP adapter has as a native adapter much more performance than file, where you need the Java Stack. But 3 MB is nothing..

Yep there's processing... it's not a pass through....
I'm sure both adapters work, my question is about performance and credibility.... any stats available to support either way?

according to me u should go for File since picking data of 3MB from a Webserver will much more time.XI can pick 3MB File from NFS/FTP in less time.
Yes processing 3 MB file may cause network congestion...but XI can pick ....

a 3 MB file, then i guess a file adapter can handle it.
Are you doing any processing on the file ?
