Equipment numbering (internal)

Dear Gurus;

I have used internal number range for equipments. While uploading the equipment master data it was found that the equipment creation started from 1000000022 instead of 1000000001.

Why it would have happened, as there were no equipments created in the system in that particular category. Also it was confirmed that the 'current number was 0' before upload.

What precaution I should take, so that it does not happen again? Also if I want to remove the created equipments in the system, what's the procedure of this?

Please make sure For the Number ranges what Buffer has been set in the Number range Object. Normally SAP statndard buffer the Number ranges in the steps of 10 when there are multiple application servers used..

Before creation of any record please chech the EQUI / ITOB tables to ensure that there are no records existing

How do I check the EQUI / ITOB tables? If at all there are any entries, then I think, I'll have to set current number as '0'?

hi hemant

use T code SE11 and enter ITOB or EQUI in database table, then press the display button ,you will reach the next screen,in that screen press the <b>content</b> button and execute .you will get the all the equipment in database tables

HI,

Use the transaction SE16, and enter ther table name, execute. In the next screen click on 'Number of entries'. System will display the number records available.

Check the values in the Tables EQUI using the TXN code SE16 , If there are any records exixting in the table , then It will give you the Last number which is being used.

Check the number range status in OIEN t.code.Ensure that current status should not show anything.
