Can ESS 2004 with XSS 500 run in an ERP 2005 ladscape with NW2004s

We are trying to plan our upgrade. We are running ERP 2004 ESS. If we upgrade our ERP system to 2005 with Netweaver 2004s J2EE, will the ERP 2004 ESS components still work?

When you upgrade ERP 2004 to ECC 6 then all the compnents in backend and ep will be upgraded. so This question will not arise.

In worst case the answer would be your components will throw errors for sure.

As I was talking about dependent packages then my advise is

EA-HR in R/3 shouldn't be upgraded and it should remain on the same stack as it is in ERP 2004

    and EP related packages

PCUIGP ESS and MSS packages and support packs should also remain on the same level.

I haven't come across any customer with such scenarios. My advise is upgrade EA HR and ESS MSS you will have lot of application level tools coming up like customization(Personalization) etc.
