We have a scenario where in we have 2 Distribution centres (DCs) , 2 Manufacturing plants (MF) and a single vendor.

The demand for the Finished good is at both the DCs.

Finished good exits at the DCs and the MF plants.

The procurement type for the finished good

--> at MF Plant is In-house

--> at DC is External

There are Transportation lanes between

Vendor --> Manufacturing Plant1

Vendor --> Manufacturing Plant2

MF1 --> DC1

MF1 --> DC2

MF2 --> DC1

MF2 --> DC2

Now when we take the Location Heuristic run at DC1 for the Finished good,

the Purchase requistion is created at teh DC but, the demand is not propagated to the MF plant. i.e there is no Distribution Demand (Planned)at MF.

What could be the reason for this?

Can you confirm if network heuristics is giving appropriate results ?

Before even going to location heuristics level, can you try to enter a distribution receipt at DC1 and see if any pop-up comes up for you to select a mode of transport ? If not, which I guess is very likely the case, I would assume there is something more to be done in master data setups. The manually entered purchase req should have a source of supply. Check for TLane validity and mode of transport.

This could be due to the transportation lane .

(a) Check for the validity date

(b) Products you are working are assigned in the required TLane

(c) TLane is assigned to the correct model .

Have you checked the sources of supply assigned to the Distribution Receipt orders? Are there any?

Hi,

you have mentioned that the system creates Purchase requisitions on the DC side. have you checked the requisitions if they have any sources of supply? you have to have source location and destination location in your purchase requisitions.
