S4HAN 1610 system-Product master stroage view is greayed out+Slotting process

Hi All,

I am trying to configure the Slotting process in EWM+S4HANA1610(Embedded one)

I have defined warehouse Product group and done the other required configuration for Slotting.

1. 1st we assign the Warehouse Product Group in /n/scwm/mat1 or /sapapo/mat1.

2. Then we run the /scwm/slot, which updates the putaway control indicator and planned putaway control indicators in the product master data automatically based on the condition technique we defined for slotting and maintained the record in transaction /scwm/gcmc.

So, for executing step 2, step 1 settings is base and mandatory, without that SLOT transaction cant be executed.

The issue is, for assigning the warehouse product group in product master data, this field is greayed out during creation and changing time aswell, due to which my slotting process is stucked, I cant continue further.

Kindly help me to get the value assgined in this field.

In S4HANA 1610, Embedded EWM system.

Thanks for the reply.

I did not understand your input.Warehouse product group is EWM component and as far as I know it can be assigned in Product master data of EWM. For that either we use /SCWM/MAT1 OR /SAPAPO/MAT1. I am not using FIORI.

This field is greyed out in these transactions, which means its in display mode/ non editable, But for working with Slotting and Rearrangement, we need to assign Warehouse product group/Warehouse Material Group in Product master data, storage view tab.

Kindly help me to get this field assigned here or letme know if there is any other place where in we can assign this field and it gets updated to product master data.

Hi,

technically you do not need this field to work with slotting and rearrangement, it is just that you decided to use it.

But you have to maintain this field with the classic ERP transaction, MM02, WM Execution view. I had a look in our new S/4HANA system, and see the same as you: this field, as all the other fields coming from the material master, are greyed out in the transaction /SCWM/MAT1, as they should not be maintained there.

Ah, but what I noticed: in MM02 the field has a different name then in /SCWM/MAT1 😞

And in S/4HANA system we dont have the WM execution tab.

Then you need to check the screen sequence you are using.

Hi,

this field comes from ERP / Material master / Product master, whatever it is called now in S/4HANA. So you maintain this in MM02 or the product master app, NOT in whatever /SC* transaction.

And: that the field is greyed out on this screens, is probably because a transaction variant is active (see note 1451123, not sure if this is valid for S/4HANA though).

I have not created any variants or any other variants also does not exits as of now.
