KM Content html page Short ID

In <b>KM Content</b>: Say suppose i have a test.html page.

If i navigate to test.html -> details -> Settings -> Properties -> "Access Links" Tab

There is a property "Short ID".

Short ID: /guid/001234................................

Using this Short ID i can call the test.html page as below:

<Protocol>://<server>:<port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/<short_ID>

The above URL is great since i can hide the navigation involed for the test.html page (Docs -> FI -> Internal .........etc....)

But once the page renders it comes back with the navigation path in place of Short ID -- and this is what i was trying to avoid.

1) Is it suppose to work this way?

2) Is there any work around to hide the navigation path and show the Short ID after the page renders?

Let me know if you need more details.

Thanks in Advance,

    RK -

It is my understanding that the guid repository provides an HTTP redirect to the target URL. I've confirmed this in my own portal using an HTTP sniffer. So to answer your first question, yes, it is supposed to work this way.

I don't know of any out of the box workaround that will provide the functionality for which you are requesting.

    I found a workaround.

Use the GUID on the folder that contains the test.html. It works great.

    <Protocol>://<server>:<port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/<short_ID>/test.html

Even after the page renders, the URL still contains the GUID.

    Thanks,

    RK.
