SAP GUI 710 Installation questions

I am looking to deploy the SAP Gui 710 across multiple site locations around the UK.

My intention is to use SAP installation Server.

Do I need to install Installation Server on a server at every location or can I install this at a Central location and then just replicate the installation share to the server at each location?

If I can repliacte the share does this also replicate any Admin packages that I may have created?

Has anyone used a DFS (Distributed File System) for the Installation Share or know if this is an option?

Lastly can someone advise how to install the LSH Service on an alternative server to the Installation Server or does this still require the software to be installed?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Martin, Thanks for the response.

Are you aware of any problems with installing the Installation Server Software and LSH Service on a Domain Controller?

We have a Domain Controllers at each of our regional offices but I don't want to install this if it will cause any problems on our Server

Sorry, but in 7.10 there is a tool for setting up a new installation server from an existing one: NWCreateInstServer (see installation Guide Page 15).

Hello Jon,

you need in every location an installation server. But to set this up easily you can install one installation server and copy the files to the other installation servers and then set there only the installation services up.
