Possible to change "File increment size" of data files ?

Hello,

I'm new on this board and I'm happy to have found it. I hope this question will help many others that found themselves in my situation.

Here goes my unfortunate story:

I had to add a new data file in order to extend SAPSR3 tablespace.

In brtools I called the option "Show data files", in order to see how all of the data files are configured. I saw the output and I thought that the increment size was expressed in MB. It was actually shown in KB.

I then added a new data file and configured the increment size to 20480 MB because I saw this value to the rest of the data files and I accidentally thought it was expressed in MB. I would like to correct this parameter and set it to 20 MB for the newly created data file. I then turned autoextend off for this datafile in order to avoid any extension problems.

I now have 2 questions:

1) Is there any way to change the incrsize parameter for an existing data file ?

The option is blocked when I attempt to alter the data file.

2) Would it be ok to configure Autoextend off for this newly created datafile only ? and leave the rest of datafiles with autoextend on, as it is ?

Thank you,

Best regards,

Alex.

I don't think it can be done with an alter command, but anyway you set the max size so no need to worry!

Yes, you can keep autoextend off for this specific file.
