function location structure

Hi, We use SAP PM function location structure for our Spare part inventory. However it’s not possible to place one machine part with the same equipment number in multiple location trees from the different machines. Do you have a solution without using Material number.

    Luc,

This seems a strange way of using FLocs..

So you want to include a single equipment number in several places in the FLoc structure?

An image of what you are trying to achive may help us understand better.

Dear Peter, thank you for your answer.

When I filter our plant in the functional location structure We have 5 levels in our Location tree.

      The first one: Our plant.

The second one: A specific machine.

      The thirth one: Machine parts.

      The fourth one: Components.

The fifth one: Spareparts and theire location in the inventory.

Some of our machines have the same Components, in that case we have one sparepart for both machines. All our spareparts have an equipment number, but its not possible to place those spareparts in the Location trees of both machines when they have the same equipment number. So when we want the component in both Location trees we have to give them two equipment numbers, and that is polluting our inventory.

I am looking for a solution for this without using Material numbers.

An equipment master can only be installed in one FLoc..

Another option is to look at Installed Base to see if that will help.
