Hello All,
Can you tell me how to collect objects for a generic extractor to be transported from development to quality in R3.
Thanks,
Prachi.
Hi,
In RSA6, place cursor on your datasource, give a look menu, there was an option change object directory, if you change the package a request window prompt you create new request.
R/3 side If your Datasource is generic, you need collect related table/view/function module in first.
Then you put your datasource and extrac structure in seperate one.

Saran

include the extractor and other details from object directory entry

it will create a transport request

Under Transport tab in RSA1,drag & drop the datasource onto the right pane & change the Package & assign a Transport Request.
If a table/view/function module is referenced by the Generic Extractor, change the Package & assign the transport request.

Hi,
Unlike BI, in R/3 when you do any new developments the system will prompt you for a transport package and request. You just need to transport these requests to R/3 QA. In case you're not sure which requests contain these objects (Tables/views/datasource etc) just open that object and go to object directory entry and click on lock overview. It will show you the request number which contains that object.
Unlike BI, R/3 does not have a transport connection tool to collect dependent objects. Hope this helps.
regards,
Sumit
