selecting what item to deliver

A client of ours sells electric cables that they purchase on cylinders of different lengths and therefore want to match as closely as possible the PO length with the lengths they have in stock. Any ideas on how to handle this?

Thanks,

If I understand the problem correctly you inventory cables in different bulk lengths and want to sell them in multiples of certain lengths - however these sale lengths don't match the inventoried lengths. One way to handle this is to use batch numbers. You inventory the various cable lengths by unique batch number. When you sell, you look at the batch quantities remaining and a UDF with a formatted search could calcule the possible multiple(s) available on the batch record.

    Hi silva,

Could be more specific? If u can codify each size, u can differentiate between the sizes.Pls specify exacty what u require?

    • Thanks, here it goes.

Receipts for same cable specs are in cylinders of different meter lengths (50, 30, 20) and consumption (sales) is generally in meters (10, 15, 35). They would like to adjust their offer to lengths they have on inventory (or multiples).

      Thanks again,
