I have a regular tests going on in factory. Against each test so many chemicals are consumed . I wold like to set thetest as a BOM and the consumption automatic just like in production BOM. The challenge is that the Header item is crated as an inventory item and and the stocks are created . I do not want the header item to be created in stock. I tried with assembly bom but no luck Can anybody suggest a method or a work around.

Although it is testing for QC, the material is getting consumed and FG is getting produced. In my opinion one should get clear picture as to what is happening on QC front in terms of consumption and final outcome.

Even if that is the requirement then route a inventory transfer request for testing purpose. And when the QC is done show it as consumption so no question of parent item.

Hi,

Create a R&D Warehouse

R&D warehouse will record a Inventory Transfer Request To Main Warehouse stating the reason for Inventory

Main warehouse will execute the request

Once the testing in the R&D warehouse is done, the R&D warehouse will record the consumption through Goods Issue screen and return the remaining stock to the main warehouse.

Hi,

In general, all raw material should be inspected before producing the FG item.

In your case, you can create like Incoming warehouse and testing warehouse. Using inventory transfer, you can transfer material from Incoming to testing warehouse.

For production, you can that material passed from testing warehouse.
