Hello,

How could we migrate concurrent users from BO Xi 3.1 to BI4.2 using UMT?

In Bi 4.2, there are no license key for concurrent users, nut guaranteed users instead..

Thanks & Regards

Migration questions should be handled by the BI implementation tag, can you change the tag?

Without any concurrent and Named users license, how is your BI accepting users? Do you have only Administrator user? If you need to add any type of user, you need to have license key added in CMC.

Hello,

In BO Xi3.1, most of the users are concurrent and it is a huge BO Platform with more than thousand users all concurrent.

In BI4.2SP2, we 're using guaranteed users.

UMT dçoes not migrate concurrent users.

If I change the user in BO3.1 from concurrent to named, UMT is migrating him with success..

Do I need to change the license key in BI4.2 ? or do I need to change the user type in BOXI3.1 from concurrent to named? (there are many many users and it is not possible to do that manually)

Hello,

We have a BOXI3.1 environment with more than one thousand users and they are all defined as concurrent users. The named license is not used in BOXI3.1.

Since BI4.2 SP2 and the change of license key in this version, we changed the license and now we're using guaranteed license key..

Now, we have to migrate those users, we're using UMT in command line to import the biar file content (users, documents,..) and this error is blocking us from importing it:

« 2017-10-04T16:08:50.509+0200","Infos de l'objet","2","CI_SYSTEMOBJECTS","******","User","FjC27U8SiQkAdz8AAHBrnFsXnI6ZFXwo","Vous ne disposez pas de licences Utilisateur simultané pour faire de cet utilisateur un utilisateur simultané. Vous possédez 0 licence(s) Utilisateur simultané. »

Is there any other known solution except changing the user type in BOXI3.1 from concurrent to named..?

The migration is ok if the user is changed to named user in BO3.1 before creating the biar file..

Many thanks for your help.

Regards,

i'm not sure what this guaranteed user license is, but you should open a support incident to review this.
There were some issues with concurrent users migrations in early 4.0/4.1 versions, but all those are documented in KBA's and have solutions, so I'm surprised to see it again in 4.2.

Work with SAP Support first as Denis suggested. However you always have SDK code to convert your user type from named to concurrent and vice versa. refer here https://blogs.sap.com/2013/05/13/scripts-for-user-management/

Thanks

Hello,

Can you check this SAP KBA:

2370236 - Upgrade Management Tool failed on upgrading users

Hope this helps

Thanks,
