Infocube - Total and Infocube - Source Databasis

Surfing thru SDN i have understood following -->

1. Totals infocube is a transactional cube and is a must.This contains the consolidation data.

2. Souce Data basis - Infocube is the cube in which transactional data pulled from R/3 is stored.Data from this cube flows to Totals Infocube.But use of this is optional.

3. The above two cubes cannot be same.

My doubts -->

1. If source data basis cube is optional and not used then how the r3 data becomes available to Totals Infocube?

2.what are the standard cubes used for the above two purpose.

    Hi Amit,

    The totals cube & a cube from a source DB are not the same, but may have the same structure.

    The std cubes installed from the BC are:

    0BCS_C10, 0BCS_C11 & 0BCS_C50 (this one is obsolete).

    All this info you may find in sap help. Please read it first.

    Here is an answer to your 1st Q:

    • The eliminations only occur where there is a trading partner in the totals records, and the account is included in the definition of the elimination method.

      In GL, each transaction account must be assigned to a group account in order for all data to be included in consolidations.
