Excel file blocked after planification of WEBI report

Hi all,

I have created a report based on an univers on an excel file.

The excel file is on the BO serveur and I have created ODBC connection to access it.

I planify this report to send a pdf report by mail to every Director.

The problem is that the report work fine for the first execution and return an error for the next execution. The excel file stay blocked on read, for a certain time. If I planify the report one hour later, it is the same reaction. Ok for the first execution and failes for the next.

So, it seems that the serveur blocked this excel file for a define time ...

Do someone have an explanation on this and can help me to solve this problem.

Problem solved. odbc problem configuration serveur 32 bits, laptop 64 bits

All insatlled 32bits and all works fine

Maybe because excel is not a simultaneous access database... what errors do you get on second run ?
Where is the data in excel comes from ? Maybe a better idea is to build universe on that data directly ?

Are you getting any error ?

How are you able to run the report once after getting error ?

Is that excel file keeping open in server ?

or Excel process is not getting closed in server !
