How can I set a Production Version Valid To date to a historical date?

We have Production Versions that were never properly delimited as new production versions were created; our goal is to only have one active Production Version on any given date. In order to correct the data I need to be able to set the 'Valid To' date on older Production Versions to a date in the past (to reflect when they really became inactive); however, I get an error message saying "To date is in the past" whenever I try this via MM02. Is there a way to disable or ignore this error?

Hello Chris

It's not possible to set valid to date in the future. This message is hardcoded as an error and you can't change it.

My suggestion for you is to use the status to lock old production versions.

Did you mean to say it's not possible to set a Valid To date in the past?

If so, can you say more about using the status to lock the production versions?

Yes, it is not possible to set a valid to date in the past.

If you set the production version status to locked, it won't be possible to use it to generate planned orders or production orders, so you can set this status for all the PVs that are no longer valid, to ensure that they won't be used.

Hi Chris,
I attach a screenshot to show you the LOCK field.
